When I was 6, my sister was in 4th grade, she had brought home a Civil War assignment. I decided to watch a video about the Civil War after. Since then, I have been interested in the American Civil War, reading books, watching movies, getting uniforms, joining a living history group, and more. I have been grateful ever since; I decided to watch that video.
I decided to make this website because I wanted to share the brave men and women's stories. I have been fascinated and intrigued by them, and I hope that you are too. Another reason why I chose this website was because not many people care or know much about the Civil War or the people who fought and died in it.
I made this website by watching tutorials, downloading pictures, stories, and locating soldiers' history, through this process my parents helped me a TON on this. They bought me a domain, helped me with ideas, promoted my website, and supported me through the whole process.
The Armstrong Civil War Roundtable is a group created by Matt Hankinson. The group studies the stories of the brave men and women who fought and died for their beliefs. The Armstrong Civil War Roundtable also goes on many field trips to different battles and historical places and landmarks.
The 62nd Pa is a living history group meaning we do not do large scale reenactments. A few years ago, I was at a Civil War event when I was probably 7 or 8. There I met Matt Hankinson. After I left, I had not heard or seen him for years, around 10 months ago I received a card from a group called the Armstrong Civil War Round Table. It was run by Matt Hankinson, he contacted the 62nd PA, run by Slim Bowser, and asked if I could join. Since then, I have been a member of the 62nd Pa volunteer infantry.
