Fletcher was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on July 8th, 1861, and served in the 2nd Massachusetts. He fought at Antietam, lived got a MD from Harvard in 1875, and lived till 1925.
Son of Col. John James Abert, he was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant and later promoted to captain April 14th, 1861. He survived Antietam but died only 5 years later in 1867. He died of yellow fever.
Before the war, he was a lieutenant in the 54th New York state militia. At the start of the war, he was appointed captain of the 27th New York. He lived through Antietam, being promoted a month later, and the rest of the war. He died in 1872 of consumption, leaving a 39-year-old widow and his daughter.
Alanzo mustered into the 1st New York Cavalry as a major, the unit was formed in New York City. He commanded the regiment until they mustered out on June 27th, 1865. He died in 1887.
After he graduated from medical school, Charles moved to Minnesota. When the American Civil War broke out, he was elected Captain, company H, 1st Minnesota. At Antietam a bullet grazed his arm and chest. He was promoted to the rank of Major September 26th, 1862. At Gettysburg he was shot 3 times, to the leg and lung. He lived and returned to the 1st, December 12th. He lived through the rest of the war and died on June 22nd 1867, of cancer.
Wounded at Bull Run on July 22nd, 1861, Charles, he was appointed Major of the 1st Minnesota. A bullet grazed his thigh at Antietam, and he was promoted September 26th, 1862. Shot three times at Gettysburg, and made a full recovery, he joined the 1st, December 12th, 1863. After the war he was Mayor of Hastings and also served in state senate from 1879-1881. He died in 1893.
At 19 years old he enlisted in the 15th Massachusetts co. B. At Antietam he was shot through the chest and killed. He is buried in Antietam National Cemetery.

Enlisting at 21 years old Henry joined the 16th Connecticut in Co G. At Antietam he suffered a gunshot which broke his right thigh. He lived through the war, became a schoolteacher, and died in 1922.
John enlisted into a local Milita named the 19th Massachusetts. By the time of Antietam he was a first sergeant, by the end of the battle he commanded company I. He lived until 1900.

Enrolled at WestPoint in 1830, he left in 1832 without graduating to work as an engineer. Until the war he built railroads. In 1861 he was a colonel in the 67th New York. After he left Antietam, he resigned his command. And joined the 2nd Hawkin Zouaves for 3 years. He died in1899.
A 22-year-old store clerk in Richmond, Richard enlisted in the 11th VA. He fought throughout the war and lived until 1900. He is buried at Spring Hill Lynchburg, VA.
